Your plan includes swim sessions that are designed to improve your aerobic, anaerobic and muscular endurance, as well as technique and speed skills.
To do this we use 5 Training Zones to structure the workouts enabling you to train according to your ability and the purpose of each session. In the first week of your plan, you will see a key swim fitness test to determine your threshold and training zones.
Following Workouts using Critical Swim Speed or Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE)

It is important for you to have your swim threshold speed (CSS) and training zones set up correctly. You will need to have entered your CSS into your TrainingPeaks settings to see the planned distance and duration for your planned swim workouts.
- You will need to use our online critical swim speed calculator to find your CSS and Zones.
- Enter your Critical Swim Speed into your TrainingPeaks settings.
- Your 5 training zones are calculated as a percentage of your CSS.

Unlike the bike and run workouts in your plan, you are unable to export swim workouts to your devices. We hope that TrainingPeaks will make this possible soon.
