To get the most out of your MyProCoach plan, make sure your training thresholds are correctly set in TrainingPeaks. This ensures each workout matches your current fitness and targets the right intensity.
Thresholds come from fitness tests included in Week 1 and repeated throughout your plan.
What Your Thresholds Are Used For
Your personal thresholds determine your 5 MyProCoach training zones for each discipline:
Bike: Power, Heart Rate, and Feel (Rate of Perceived Exertion - RPE)
Run: Pace, Heart Rate, and Feel (RPE)
Swim: Speed, and Feel (RPE)
Entering Your Thresholds
Power, Pace, or Speed
If you train with:
Power (bike)
Pace (run)
Speed (swim)
Just enter your threshold value.
You don’t need to set up zones — MyProCoach workouts automatically calculate the correct 5-zone intensities.
Tip: If you choose to use zones, select MyProCoach auto-calculation in TrainingPeaks.
Using Heart Rate
If you train with heart rate:
Enter your threshold heart rate (bike and/or run).
Use the MyProCoach auto-calculator to generate your 5 HR training zones.
Follow these zones in the workout descriptions.
Refer to your fitness test instructions for how to find and update your thresholds.
Training by Feel (RPE)
If you prefer training by feel, use the RPE Guide to match each effort to the correct zone.
Why it helps:
Learning how each zone feels improves pacing and keeps you on track even without data.

Managing Threshold Updates
TrainingPeaks can notify you when your thresholds may need updating.
You can switch notifications on/off in Settings.
We recommend not enabling “Automatically apply new threshold changes.”
Review each suggestion and update manually only if it looks accurate.
