1. Description Section
- What it is: The Description section contains hand-typed instructions written by Phil, your coach. You should always follow these guidelines to understand the purpose and focus of the workout. The Description gives a general overview of the session, helping you prepare mentally and physically.
2. Details Section

What it is: The Details section is generated automatically based on specific metrics, such as Functional Threshold Power (FTP) for cycling or Threshold Run Pace for running. This section provides you with the target intensities for the workout, calculated based on your personalized training zones.

What to note: When you export your workout to your watch or computer, it will typically display this Details section with intensity targets. These targets are crucial for accurately following the structured intervals.
Why Do These Sections Exist?
- Description: Provides coaching instructions for the workout.
- Details: Offers specific intensity targets based on your thresholds, ensuring the workout aligns with your fitness level.
Ensure Your Thresholds are Up-to-Date
To get the most accurate intensity targets for your workouts, ensure your FTP and Threshold Run Pace are up-to-date in your TrainingPeaks settings.
- Update Your Bike FTP: Enter or Update Your Thresholds and Training Zones in TrainingPeaks (Bike)
- Update Your Run Threshold: Enter or Update Your Thresholds and Training Zones in TrainingPeaks (Run)
Regular fitness tests (like time trials) will help ensure that these thresholds are current and reflect your progress. This guarantees your workout intensity remains appropriate as you improve.
