If you're receiving too many alerts on your Garmin device or want to change how they appear, you can adjust your notification settings in just a few steps.

Manage Notifications in the Garmin Connect App
1. Open Garmin Connect
Make sure your device is paired with your phone.
2. Go to Device Settings
Tap More
Select Garmin Devices
Choose your paired device
3. Edit Smart Notifications
Go to Notifications & Alerts
Select Smart Notifications
Turn notifications on or off for calls, messages, and apps
4. Sync Your Device
Sync to apply your updated settings.
Manage Notifications on Your Garmin Device
You can also change settings directly on most Garmin watches:
Open Settings
Go to Notifications & Alerts → Smart Notifications
Enable or disable alerts as needed
Troubleshooting Tips
Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both your phone and device.

iPhone users:
Go to Settings → Bluetooth
Tap your Garmin device
Make sure Share System Notifications is turned on
TrainingPeaks Notification Settings (Recommended)
To stay informed without automatic changes to your data:

Turn on:
Notify me of suggested threshold changes via email

Leave off:
Automatically apply new threshold changes
This lets you review suggested changes before applying them.
What To Do When TrainingPeaks Suggests a Threshold Change
1. Review the Suggestion
Does it match how you’ve been feeling or performing lately?
2. Update Your Threshold in TrainingPeaks
Go to Settings
Manually enter your new threshold
This keeps your MyProCoach 5-zone training system accurate
3. Update Garmin Connect
Manually adjust your Garmin training zones
Garmin does not sync threshold changes automatically from TrainingPeaks
