Garmin Notifications
You can manage your Garmin notifications directly from your Garmin device.
The Auto Detect feature is turned on by default. Your device can automatically detect your maximum heart rate and lactate threshold during an activity. When paired with a compatible power meter, the device can automatically detect your functional threshold power (FTP) during an activity.
Turning Off Performance Notifications
Some performance notifications appear upon completion of your activity. Some performance notifications appear during an activity or when you achieve a new performance measurement, such as a new VO2 max. estimate. You can turn off the performance condition feature to avoid these notifications and use the TrainingPeaks notifications to consider threshold changes.
- Go to Settings on your device
- Select
TrainingPeaks settings
We recommend that under 'Notifications' in your TrainingPeaks settings, you choose 'Notify me of suggested threshold changes vis email' and leave 'Automatically apply new threshold changes' unchecked.
TrainingPeaks will then send you a notification. However, this is only a suggestion.
You can then consider the suggested change. If it feels correct, go ahead and update your threshold and recalculate your 5 personalised MyProCoach training zones in both TrainingPeaks and Garmin Connect.

If the change doesn't feel right, then leave your settings as they are.
