Step 1: Set Your Default Pool Length
Log in to TrainingPeaks on your PC.
Click your name → Settings → Equipment.
Enter your pool length (yards or meters) and set it as default.
Click Save and Close.
Step 2: Sync Your Device
Connect your training device to TrainingPeaks. The default pool length you select will be applied to all your swim workouts, which you can track on your watch.
Step 3: Follow Your Structured Swim Workout
Using the Lap or Interval Button
✅ End of an interval: Press the lap/interval button to move to the next step.
✅ Skip a step: Press the button to skip a rep or rest.
❌ During an interval: Do not press the button — this can cut the interval short.
❌ Pausing the workout: Use the pause/stop button instead.
💡 Some devices beep or vibrate at the next interval, but manual confirmation (lap/interval button) is usually required.
Example
Workout: 150 FS (Z2) + 50 FS (Z4) + 20s Rest
Start your workout at 150 FS in Z2.
Press Lap at the end of 150 FS.
Swim 50 FS in Z4, then press Lap.
Take 20s rest. Press Lap at start/end of rest if you want it recorded separately.
Drills & Kick Sets
Single-arm drills or kick sets with your non-watch arm may not track distance.
Press Lap at the end of the set and adjust distances in TrainingPeaks afterwards.
Ending Your Workout
Most devices enter a free swim cooldown mode automatically.
If you miss a set, you can account for it during cooldown.
Press Lap or Stop twice to fully finish your workout.
